Delhi CM station rename:
Rekha Gupta has ordered the renaming of three metro stations in Delhi Pitampura- Haiderpur belt to make navigation sharper and station identities clearer for daily commuters.
She announced the decision during her visit to the area where she met local residents and reviewed ongoing Civic work.
She said the government wants Metro Station to carry names that accurately represent their neighbourhoods, not vague or broad labels that confuse travellers.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta renamed the existing Pitam pura Metro Station to Madhuban Chowk Metro Station,
directly linking it to the well known traffic Junction that thousands of commuters use as a landmark.
By doing this, she removed the long standing mismatch between the station’s name and its real location.
She also changed the name of under-construction North Pitampura (QU Block) station to North Pithampura- Prashant Vihar Metro Station.
She said the new dual name reflects both key residential pockets the station will serve and helps passengers identify the route without second guessing.
For the third station, the Delhi CM replaced the proposed name Pritampura North with Haiderpurpur Village Metro Station.
She said this updated name respects the actual geography of the area and gives long due visibility to Haiderpur Village.
By anchoring the name to the correct locality, She aims to give commuters clearer direction and stronger Place recognition.
Rekha Gupta said these renaming are not symbolic gestures but practical decisions that improve the travel experience.
She is simultaneously pushing local infrastructure upgrades, including the widening of Max Hospital Road and construction of a new underpass, to reduce congestion and improve last mile Metro connectivity.
With these metro name changes, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, reinforces her focus on commuter convenience,
local identity and more intuitive Metro map for a rapidly expanding capital.
