Afghanistan denies india role in pakistan conflict

Tensions are flaring once again across South Asia’s most fragile fault line, Afghanistan- Pakistan border.

Islamabad  has accused New Delhi for instigating the unrest, while Kabul has flatly rejected the claim calling it baseless and politically motivated.

In a strong word statement, Afghanistan’s Defence  Minister Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid declared that the country has “never allowed its territory to be used against any nation, including Pakistan.

The message?

Afghani unease into specially not the India Pakistan rivalry That has dominated the regions for decades.

Afghanistan‘s firm stand

Kabul’s response was direct and uncooperative.

Afghanistan has an independent foreign policy and acts in its own national interest,” said Mujahid.

By rejecting Pakistan’s claim, the Afghan government positioned itself as a Sovereign Actor, not a proxy player.

it also hinted that the accusations were nothing more than a diplomatic cover up aimed at defining attention from internal instability and its ongoing battle with militancy.

Pakistan’s foreign office.Meanwhile, elected that external forces hinting at India were behind militant strikes from Afghan soil.

This is not the first time Islamabad has pointed fingers at New Delhi for fueling and unrest through Afghanistan.

But this time the accusation came amid height and border clashes, airstrikes and rising Aimed Pakistan militant activity, particularly from groups like Tehrik- i-Taliban, Pakistan (TTP).

For Pakistan ,linking India to these events helps frame the crisis as a foreign conspiracy, not a domestic security failure.

India’s Cool counter

India’s Ministry of external affairs did not cut up words either.

Calling the narrative a “habitual misinformation campaign”. India said the claims were another attempt by Pakistan to shift global focus away from its own terror infrastructure.

New Delhi emphasised its role as a developmental partner in Afghanistan from building roads and schools to support humanitarian efforts, not as an attacker.

The bigger picture a region on edge

The war of words might sound diplomatic, but it’s rooted in a deeper regional insecurity.

Pakistan sees any strong India-Afghanistan partnership as a direct- threat to its influence.

Afghanistan, on the other hand, is trying to assert its strategic independence, ensuring it’s not seen as anyone’s pledge.

Experts say these recurring accusations serve a domestic audience in Pakistan —rallying, nationalist sentiment while diverting anger away from economic and political confusion.

But they also risk worsening an already fragile border situation where small skirmishes can quickly spiral into larger confrontations.

Regional ripples and power Balance

Afghanistan denies India role in pakistan conflict, and the stake along the Durand line, already a disputed boundary, has observed months of tension.

Dozens of Pakistani soldiers and Afghan fighters have died in discord since early October.

If Islamabad continues to accuse India of involvement, it could mix up peace talks, and humanitarian operations across the border.

Meanwhile, India’s growing goodwill with Kabul through infrastructure, trade, and education support gives it a soft power advantage that Pakistan finds hard to encounter.

For Afghanistan, maintaining impartiality, both a challenge and an opportunity.

It’s gesturing to the world that it wants regional respect, not regional manipulation.

The Takeaway

  • Afghanistan denies India’s role in the Pakistan conflict, calling Islamabad‘s allegation baseless.
  • India Becks Afghanistan statement, accusing Pakistan of spreading misinformation.
  • Pakistan remains defensive, using external blame to justify internal instability.

But underneath all the diplomatic noise, one truth stands out—-

The real conflict is not about who fired first; It’s about who controls the regional narrative.

Kabul wants recognition as a legitimate, independent state.

India wants to cement its image as a stabilizing power.

And Pakistan, caught in the middle, is fighting a battle of perception as much as politics

What lies ahead?

The coming weeks will decide whether the reason steps back from the limits or falls  deeper into mistrust.

If Afghanistan and Pakistan fail to step down, the consequences could ripple beyond their border— hitting trade routes, humanitarian aid corridors, and even international alliances.

For now, Afghanistan’s messages is clear:

“We won’t be a playground for rival powers.”

and in a region, defined by old rivalries, a new insecurities that statement alone mark a bold new  tone
